Epic twenty-four.

Epic twenty-four.

I had my 24th birthday party last Friday on a tram. It was so much hussle but so much fun at the same time. I genuinely thank everyone for coming and for giving me the best birthday party ever!

Why tram party?

Because I’ve always wanted one!

The fact is the tram party is not as relaxing as I imagined it would be – the thing runs damned fast! And in this mid-July weather it’s just nasty : P It’s like the idea of a waterbed. You’ve always wanted one because it sounds like so much fun, but after one night actually sleeping on it, you know it’s a bad idea. But on the other hand the tram party is very affordable and fun, and it would probably make better sense in cooler weather. (For those of you who’s taller than 180cm, sorry about the neck pain.)

Once again, I had a great time and I’m so glad that I got to see so many people I love on my birthday!
For some of you, I know I’ve been a really lousy friend… but hey, let’s make it work again : )

Special thanks to Sam who made my birthday cupcakes!

How are you guys!? It’s been a while since my last post cox it’s been raining a lot in my city! I miss you guys : )
The other day I was told by Sam – who happens to have model height – that I’m petite. To be honest I’ve never thought about that before, but apparently 5’3″ is considered petite – a term I’m still trying to deal with.

I guess there’s nothing I can do but trying to make the best out of the 159cm of myself. It takes a lot more effort to put outfits together but thanks to those wedges and my mom’s brilliant photography skills I just got myself a super model moment : D (I don’t think I will have the guts to wear this out but I’m happy with the photo – which I’ll show to my grand kids : P

Also, I did a little Q&A with Beth from B.Jones Style and Madeline from Jean Greige for my company’s blog! They are so adorable and nice! Go read the Q&A here and here!

Stay happy and inspired!

If you like it put a collar on it.

If you like it put a collar on it.

(Topshop dress, See by Chloe clogs and Midwest Vintage men’s collar.)

Ever since I saw the leather collar on Men Repeller I wanted one for myself, though leather and spikes aren’t really my taste. When I found this collar from the piles of vintage clothing leftovers in my company’s workshop, I think it’s perfect  to pair it up with my new Topshop dress. The 50s inspired midi dress is really pretty but I kinda wish the seam’s not visible from the front. But all in all  I like that the style is girly and quirky at the same time. Hope you like it too! (I guess you’ve noticed that I got a new pair of clogs. Well, I agree that’s IT for clogs.)

(I was convinced by my mom that I DON’T look good when I’m smiling, so here you go the unnecessary sad face.)

I’m really excited about my next post. But I’ll keep it a secret for now.
The only thing I can say is – it’s gonna be kinda fishy : P

What have I missed?

Yay! It’s been six months! I can’t believe I’ve made it this far : P
I want to thank you all for your sweet comments, following and returning visits. They mean so much to me : ) Okay, maybe it’s a little cheesy to put it that way. I have a giveaway coming up soon. Leave a comment and tell me what you guys are interested in getting!

Back to the outfit. I did a similar outfit earlier this year. I like to call this kind of layering the “superhero effect”, because it creates a cape-like effect when I’m walking and it feels like, well, superhero : P It’s definitely a fun way to dress up but try to stick with muted colours or it may look somewhat clowny. I got this Monki dress from last season. I don’t think they still have the exact same piece but they do have some versatile pieces for layering.

I’m kinda obsessed with ankle-length button-down shirt dresses this spring. From Stella McCartney’s Chilling in the Mediterranean type to Michael Kor’s Safari-inspired type, they just look effortless! I’m also in love with this peach peasant dress by Fendi. All you have to do is cinch it up with a skinny belt and slip on your favourite pair of sandals, and you’re all set!

I always like to layer a button-up shirt over my summer basics, but it always end up looking baggy. Autilia’s denim shirt with cut-out shoulder details is the perfect solution for a causal sexy look! I may not have Nicole Warne’s unique features or her perfect hair, but I’m happy to be inspired by her fabulous style.  I love the way she worn her sheer peach shirt and paired it with simple leather shorts. Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication – for some people : )  Jennifer from Agogo Fashion is giving us the ultra-sexy superhero effect : ) You see, to conceal is to reveal in style. I’m a fan.

Spring is quite a feminine season for me, in terms of dressing up. It’s the perfect season for items like midi skirts and 3/4 sleeves tops. I found this hot red full skirt in H&M.  I was amazed by how much visual drama it creates, definitely a must-have piece for every girl. Not gonna talk too much this time, the post is getting longer each time : P

You’ve probably noticed these lovely jewels by now. They are all handmade pieces by a very talented young (and beautiful :0 ) artist from Costa Rica – Natalia Araya. I’ve been a huge fan of her designs, and these little Ojitos are my favourites from her. Visit her blog www.gravitando.wordpress.com to see how she works her magic : D (More features coming up in the next post!)

It’s all on the shoulders! Etro’s beautiful ethnic designs for Spring has all the desirable shoulder details. Oh and the puffy sleeves; It’s about time to get rid of the winter shades and put on some Hot red! I’m loving this dress from Brioni’s Spring collection; This black dress by Miu Miu with latticework details on the neckline is a piece of highly-wearable art.

All these womanly full skirts are absolutely beautiful. Dreamy neutrals or bold bright colours, a full skirt is always the best girly solution : )

Have a lovely weekend!

We’ll live each day in Spring time.

(H&M 3D flower dress and leopard print scarf, Monki denim shirt, Unknown brand red wedges, Asos.com necklace and Nataliaraya sterling silver jewelry)

I was feeling springy the other day, so I put on my H&M LWD with 3D flowers details and a denim shirt over it. (It’s structured but it’s still a shirt. I couldn’t quite imagine myself in a denim jacket that’s why.) To acessories the outfit I put on my old red wedges and a scarf. It’s very simple, and I was surprise by how simplicity can be the cure of my recent worries. (a bit too much irrelevant information here.) Have a great day my friends.

BDBG Max Azria’s SS2011 RTW has a remarkable collection of textured white silk dresses, maxis and minis; one-shouldered and caped, with tonal chiffon and lace details. Frankie Morello’s Spring2011 is about playful summer denim and flowy chiffon, including this maxi Chambray shirt which is wore unbuttoned with a maxi chiffon dress. And this white one-piece from N°21 SS2011 collection, which offers a mixture of sportswear chic  and subtle feminity, is one of my favourites.

On the street I’m loving Jenny’s denim-on-floral – another impecable combination; AiB’s spot on accessories; and on Hallie, an elegant, more grown-up version of denim-on-white.

Have fun! Spring is just around the corner : D

(Monki peach shirt-dress, H&M slouchy cardigan and leopart print scarf, Forever21 ankle boots, Asos.com skinny belt and faceted heart necklace, H&M and Nataliaraya sterling silver jewelry.)

So this is the twisted version of my recent Chictopia front page outfit. I decided to shoot this again mainly because the photos are way too cold and depressing, but I’ve also made a few changes on the outfit itself.

I picked up this shirt-dress together with a few other items from Monki during my short stay (48hours) in Hong Kong. It is now one of my must-haves for Spring because of its versatility – You can wear it in so many ways without looking repetitive. I really like Monki’s affortable price range and its outside-the-box thinking. (I’m not a huge fan of the interior design of their HK store though, there’s hardly a mirror and the changing-rooms are scary.)

*One importance line to my dear fellow bloggers: I’m not able to browse your blog or leave comments because I have no access to all Blogger websites while staying in China. I’m gonna need some serious updates after the holiday : P* Have a lovely evening.

Goodbye for now, sweet Vienna.

Goodbye for now, sweet Vienna.

Photographs by tituz

Can’t believe it’s time to say goodbye again… I really love the city now after spending a month actually LIVING in it.  I used to be a frequent traveler (by frequent I mean out-of-control) and now I think I found the place (more importantly the person) to settle down with. It feels scary but pretty amazing. Now I’m heading to my hometown for Chinese New Year with family (believe me there’s nothing more important than CNY for us). I have no clue what will come my way in the next couple of months, wish me good luck : )

About the outfit: This is probably my last outfit for the winter season (style-wise). I only have a small part of my closet with me and the outfits are starting to look repetative. I’m so bored with the dirty neutrals now I need some bright colours for my Spring 2011. (But I genuinely hope you’re still gonna like and comment on this on : P ). Have a lovely evening.

Finally I have recieved my Jeffrey Campbell order from Solestruck.com! I love them so much (yea, so much I forget about the fact that I have to pay Austrian custom €78 for nothing.) This is a look I had in mind for a very long time. I know there’s a lot of drama going on, but with the simple colour combination it’s actually fairly wearable. I love playing with different hemlines, this is my minimum/maximum look. I hope you like it!

I know it’s very very late for a happy new year post, but it’s very sincere : ) I’m in Vienna again, and we are about to move in to our brand new apartment. Starting a new life in another city is very challenging and tiring, and things are definitely not working for us lately… ( We don’t even have internet in the new place yet! yea.. I’m a blogger without internet at the moment. ) I hope the coming days of 2011 are not as tough as its beginning, and I wish you all Happy New Year!
