Some thoughts on minis…

About a year ago I realised that mini skirts are not my thing. The reason being with my height (5″3) has limited the length of my legs, and no matter how thin I get, within my healthy weight range ofcourse, my legs are still relatively short. (Feeling quite comfortable in my Size 8 body I also don’t see a need to loose weight.) I used to think by wearing something short and thus showing more legs would help the situation. But quite the opposite, mini lengths reveal just about how much I have! By realising that I gradually switched to midi and maxi lengths, and started to feel more and more uncomfortable in minis.

Well, it’s not exactly right either to avoid mini lengths from now on. Just because we are girls and we like to change with no particular reasons, we can’t help but wanting to switch things up. I came up a formular that’s quite useful for myself, hopefully for you too, and that is -to always layer something longer that would reveals the front part of your mini length but covers up the rest. Not quite getting it? Just image how boring and powerless I would look without my super mac!! Don’t worry this is no rule, I’m still sneaking in and out in my short shorts. Just when it comes to dressing up, minis are really not for me. I know for many MINI IS THE RULE. So how about just giving midi and under-the-knee length a try, you may know what I mean immediately : )

Happy, uh, mid-week?

PS: For someone who might be reading… D0 you see the cool stuff under my trench coat???

Hey girls! Long time no post : P How are you!? I’m not going to say too much cox I need to catch up on some sleep : ( It will be really akward if I fall asleep at work : P  Uh Welcome to work life…
Something about this outfit – I really like the red and black combo with a camel vest on top to bring everything together. The vest is an old one I got from a local boutique, and I couldn’t find something similar that I really like. I’m also wearing my BELOVED Messeca Coraline wedges, they are just so pretty and edgy. I saw a few new colours coming out on Solestruck.com go check them out here! Personally I wouldn’t go for neons but these shoes are just so adorable : )

I have three outfits ready to post this week so stay tuned for more: )
Meanwhile, stay happy and inspired!

* Sorry for the typos. I was so completely exhausted I’ve wriiten the post entirely with typos : P Thank you for reading though : )

If Jack White wears hot pink.

(Zara blazer, Free People skorts and wedges, H&M top and socks.)

I’m back to my humble rooftop where I started The Style Voyager. My life’s getting a little busy at the moment. So if I haven’t reply your emails or comments it’s because I can’t really spare the time to do it : ( But I’ve been reading each and every word your sent me! They really mean a lot to me : ) But things are on the right track now and I can’t wait to share with all of you!

When I put together this outfit I didn’t think of Jack White or any style reference in particular. But when I sent these photos to my boyfriend he immediately spotted the Jack White in me : P (I admit it would look much closer if I was wearing a trilby. ) So sad that there will be no more White Stripes. Time for a good old track guys : )

Oh, the lady in blue is my mom. I’m giving her kisses and hugs for making better photographs each time!

Have a lovely, well, Tuesday.

Layering with Parka.

Layering with Parka.

Photographs by dear mom : )

(Zara parka, Monki denim shirt, Vintage mens plaid shirt from Prague, Jeffrey Campbell wedges and Topshop hot pants.)

Lately I’ve been trying different things out, for example, a parka. I know it sounds ridiculous, but this is the first time I put on a parka (mainly because my mom used to call it the homeless jacket).  It’s so versatile and comfortable I don’t ever want to take it off again. (Which makes me wonder if the homeless people actually put on their parka before or after they became homeless.. you see what I mean?) – Alright, that’s a lot of useless information.
Back to the outfit, I’m wearing the parka over a denim shirt over a plaid shirt. It’s a bit bulky to layer on three button-up tops so I went bare-legged to balance it out (and in case you’re wondering, I had pants on!) I hope you enjoy this post!

I really like the whole sportswear trend, I’m not a sporty girl but it looks fun and chic. My outfit was pretty much inspired by the Dior Spring 2011 opening look by Karlie Kloss, minus the flirty sailor effect. (The fact that there won’t be another Galliano+Karlie Kloss opening for Dior is killing me… ) I’m also loving this sportmax coat, and the flat platform sandals and knitted socks combination by Michael Kors. (Angelica if you’re reading… it’s just a personal taste thing ; ) I love your blog!)

Jean Greige is probably my new favourite in the style blogosphere cause she’s a natural. Love her shoes and ankle socks in this outfit! (Go to her blog now for this really fun DIY turbeanie tutorial!); Don’t know about you guys, but I’d been following The Vintage Society, Beth’s “previous” website, for many years before she started B. Jones Style. She’s such a inspiration for me, and this army green maxi looks perfect on her; I love how Hallie can pull off such a huge amount of leopard prints. It’s very lovely photo, and you know what!? Chinese girls are pretty amazing : P
